What is NMFC and why does it matter?
NMFC (National Motor Freight Classification) is the standard classification system for less-than-truckload (LTL) freight in the United States. Carriers use NMFC codes to determine freight class, which directly affects shipping rates. Using the wrong class can result in reclassification charges or unexpected costs on your freight invoice.
How often is the data updated?
Our database syncs with the official NMFC source daily. New supplements, amendments, and rule changes are reflected within 24 hours of publication. Pro and Enterprise users can subscribe to email alerts when articles they care about are updated.
Can I use the API to integrate with my TMS?
Yes. Pro plans include 1,000 API requests per month via a REST JSON API. Enterprise plans have no request limits. You can search articles, retrieve article details, run the density calculator, and query change history — all programmatically. Full API documentation is available in the developer portal after sign-up.
What happens at the end of my free trial?
After your 14-day free trial ends, your account automatically moves to the Free plan unless you choose to subscribe to Pro. You will not be charged unless you explicitly upgrade. Your saved searches and account data are retained on the Free plan.
Do you offer discounts for annual billing?
Yes. Annual billing saves you 20% compared to monthly pricing — the equivalent of getting more than two months free. You can switch to annual billing at any time from your account settings, and the discount will be applied to your next billing cycle.
